How do we go about preparing our children for 21st-century workplaces?
Becoming college, career, and community ready is a crucial goal for all students as they transition into adulthood. It requires a combination of knowledge and social-emotional skills that will enable them to thrive in their personal and professional lives.
Here are some key skills students need to navigate the complexities of the modern world:
Critical thinking and problem-solving: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential. Students should be able to analyze information, evaluate arguments, and make informed decisions.
Communication: Effective communication is essential in both personal and professional settings in order to be able to express ideas clearly in writing and speech. It is key when it comes to connecting with others.
Digital literacy: In today's technologically advanced society, digital literacy is a must. Students should be able to use technology to gather and analyze information, collaborate with others, and communicate effectively.
Collaboration and teamwork: Success in college and the workforce often requires working effectively with others. Students should be able to collaborate and work in teams, taking into account the perspectives and needs of others.

The Apprentice Project is working towards building 21st-century skills among underprivileged children studying in government or low-income private schools.
